Compco Safety : Tested and Accredited
In conjunction with the Loughborough University Wolfson Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, our Edge Protection System has been tested and passed to Class B of the required British Standard EN 13374 for Temporary Edge Protection.
Test Report
A full report on system tests detailing the required static and dynamic load testing needed to pass the standard is available as part of our QA system. Contained within the report are model calculations for our Temporary Edge Protection System. The report is available on request.
Additionally, our Temporary Edge Protection System complies to the following requirements:
Correct handrail heights and spacing
Staircases are not generally regarded as work access ways and are not strictly covered by BS EN 13374. However, we have ensured compliance by engineering our stair and flat posts to give the following outcomes.
• The top handrail on stairs is a minimumof 900mm measured from anywhere on the stair
• The distance between the top handrail and intermediate handrail is a maximum of 475mm
• The distance between intermediate handrail and the top of the toe board is a minimum of 475mm.
Provision for toe/kick boards and safety netting
Lugs on clamp and post allow for positioning of toe boards and safety netting can be easily attached to the system.
